Ice Skating

One of the easiest ways to take in the outdoors is to lace up in a pair of ice skates! The Northstar ski resort has a 9,000 square foot ice skating rink that is free if you bring your own skates. If you didn’t have room to pack your own skate’s, rentals are only $10 for all ages. The rink is located right in the middle of the Village at Northstar and has a warm surrounding of lounge chairs, fire pits, as well as bars and restaurants. The area can double as a cozy hangout for anyone in the family who would rather take in the scene.

Fat Tire Biking

For those who are waiting for summer to get back on their bike, or for anyone looking to try something new, consider Fat Tire biking! The tires are filled to a lower pressure, and there's not the suspension a regular mountain bike has. Public Beaches

At 22 miles long and 12 miles wide North Lake Tahoe is the largest Alpine lake in North America. The beautiful panoramic mountain views can be experienced from every beach on the 72-mile shoreline! North Lake Tahoe’s Hidden Beach is very popular and located near Incline Village. Even though it might be hard to find, and parking is limited, everyone agrees the effort is worth it! Chimney Beach is a delightful sandy beach that is found six miles south of Incline Village, and it is one of Lake Tahoe’s few dog-friendly beaches.
Looking for a large recreation area? Kings Beach Recreation Area is one of the best spots for water sports rentals and is great for families as well as large groups. You will find a playground, volleyball courts, and shaded picnic tables ready for the perfect beach day!

Snow Tubing

Let’s get serious about sledding! Gone are the days of hiking up the hill with your child in tow. With so many resort areas offering tubing as an activity, you and your family can take multiple laps down the hill with the exhaustion of getting back up to the top. The plentiful supply of top-quality water combined with the beautiful landscape and unique culture that exists in the region makes Lake Tahoe a natural choice for many microbreweries. Marinas & Watersports

North Lake Tahoe marinas are located from Sunnyside to Sand Harbor and as with most marinas during the summers, parking can fill up quickly so be sure to plan ahead.
Most of the marinas include boat launch locations to full-service marinas offering fueling docks, deli, convenience store, and boat rentals. If boating isn’t your thing you can always rent kayaks for the lake, as well as stand up paddle-boards (SUP).

Cross Country Skiing

If gorgeous scenery through snow-covered trails is more up your alley look no further than cross country skiing at North Lake Tahoe.
